1.White Coffee (Bạc Xỉu)

Bac Xiu is a coffee and milk drink, containing more milk than coffee. Bac Tay Xiu Phe is the entire name, with bac meaning white, tay meaning empty cup, xiu meaning a bit, and phe meaning coffee. Bac Tay Xiu Phe originally meant “adding a little coffee to a glass of hot milk,” but it was eventually abbreviated to Bac Xiu.

Bac Xiu is a drink that is suitable for anyone. Not as dense as espresso, not as floral as a cafe latte or cappuccino. It’s a simple, familiar beverage. People can have a cup of Bac Xiu at any cafe, including a sidewalk cafe.

Initially, individuals combined condensed milk with hot water and added coffee. However, as life progresses, individuals consider utilizing fresh milk instead of hot water to create a more aromatic flavor. The coffee used is traditional Vietnamese coffee.

This coffee allows everyone to enjoy hot or iced Bac Xiu as they like. With a subtle coffee aroma and a deep sweetness, this drink is suitable for both women and children, regardless of age.

2. Egg Coffee (Cà Phê Trứng)

Egg coffee is a unique type of coffee drink. The rich flavor of eggs combined with the passionate taste of coffee results in an irresistibly delectable beverage. As the name implies, egg coffee is a drink made from two major ingredients: coffee essence and beaten eggs.

Because of this unique mixture, the drink has a bitter, fragrant flavor blended with the fatty but not fishy taste of whipped eggs, which will immediately win you over the first time you try it.

Egg coffee was developed at the “Giang” cafe in Hanoi. Mr. Nguyen Van Giang is the originator of this unique egg coffee. Mr. Giang investigated and developed a recipe for whipped egg yolks based on the well-known Italian cappuccino.

Whipped eggs produce the same impression as milk foam in a beautiful cappuccino. Giang egg coffee is distinguished by the addition of “secret” substances to the eggs before beating, resulting in fragrant and not eggy.

4. Lotus tea (Trà Sen)

Lotus Tea (Tra Sen) is a traditional Vietnamese fragrant tea, loved for its soothing properties and characteristic floral scent. Prepared by steeping green tea leaves inside fresh lotus flowers, this process gives the tea its delicate aroma and delicate floral scent.

Lotus tea is not only a refreshing drink but also a popular choice for many people because it is ideal for relaxing after a busy day. This drink offers a unique sensory experience capturing the essence of Vietnamese culture and tradition.

To marinate lotus tea use lotus rice to marinate the tea because lotus rice is the part that retains the most fragrant aroma. You need to carefully separate the rice from each lotus flower. After separating, sift to remove impurities from the lotus rice and then ferment overnight.

The next day, roast the lotus tea you just marinated. Then sift the old lotus rice, prepare the tea, and marinate it with the new lotus rice. After marinating, repeat 5-7 times to allow the tea to absorb the lotus smell. With careful preparation, mixing, and ingredients with our country’s flavors, lotus tea has become a representative of Vietnamese tea culture, contributing to tea culture in the world.
