Severe Flooding in Quy Nhon: Hundreds Rescued as Water Rises Over 2 Meters
Severe flooding occurred late on November 18 and early November 19 in Quy Nhon City, causing water levels to surge more than two meters in several residential areas. Hundreds of residents were forced to climb onto roofs and upper floors to escape rising floodwaters and call for rescue.
Sixteen neighborhoods in northern Quy Nhon, near Quang Trung University, were heavily affected. Many homes were completely submerged, with water reaching the rooftops. Residents reported having little time to react as the floodwaters rose quickly during the night.

The area, located along small river branches, is known to flood during heavy rainfall. However, locals said the speed and severity of this event were unprecedented.
Throughout last night and early this morning, Da Nang City and coastal provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa experienced extremely heavy rainfall. Between 7:00 p.m. on November 18 and 3:00 a.m. on November 19, some locations recorded more than 160 mm of rain. Water levels on the Ha Thanh River neared the third alarm threshold.
Rescue teams are continuing to evacuate residents and support affected communities as rainfall persists.
