Celebrating Hue as Vietnam’s Culinary Capital

On the evening of December 18, the 2025 International Food Festival “Hue – Culinary Capital” officially opened at Thuong Bac Park in Hue City. The event attracted a large number of local residents and visitors.

The festival is part of the key closing events of the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025. It highlights Hue’s important role in preserving and promoting Vietnamese culinary heritage.

A Gathering of Regional Flavors from Across Vietnam

The festival features more than 50 food booths from provinces and cities nationwide. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of culinary experiences representing both Hue cuisine and regional specialties.

Main activities include live cooking demonstrations, food displays, and tastings. Popular dishes include banh cuon, banh tom, bun oc, com lam, grilled chicken, thit lui, ruou can, goi la, seafood salad, Binh Dinh tre tron, Nghe An eel dishes, bun dau mam tom, and mi Quang.

Hue’s signature dishes are also well represented. These include banh ep, banh loc, banh nam, banh it, and a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes.

OCOP Products and Local Culinary Brands

In addition to prepared foods, the festival introduces typical OCOP products from many localities. Featured items include Hao Nhan black chicken eggs, black chicken egg cakes, Phu Sa coconut cinnamon cookies, Quy Thu grilled coconut cakes, Hiep Duc peanut candy, and products made from Bo Chinh ginseng.

Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy dishes prepared by reputable restaurants and hotels in Hue City, adding a professional and modern touch to the event.

Promoting Vietnamese Culinary Culture to the World

Through this festival, Hue aims to promote both tangible and intangible cultural values, along with unique tourism resources and products of Vietnam. The event also helps showcase the culinary identity of Hue to domestic and international visitors.
