Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2025 Celebrates Heritage and Creative Connection
The Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2025 will take place from December 19 to 21 at Thong Nhat Park. The event is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. It carries the theme “Hanoi – A Culinary Journey of Creative Connection.” The festival is expected to boost tourism in the capital at the end of the year.
Honoring Hanoi’s Culinary Heritage
The festival creates a lively cultural space that celebrates Hanoi cuisine. It also encourages creativity and connection between generations. Culinary artisans will share their personal stories and techniques. These stories help younger audiences understand traditional food culture.
This year, the festival features 60 exhibition spaces. These spaces introduce Hanoi’s signature dishes and regional specialties from across Vietnam. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of traditional flavors. The event highlights the value of culinary heritage. It also strengthens the brand of Hanoi Cuisine as elegant and refined.

Diverse Activities and Cultural Experiences
The festival offers many activities beyond food displays. One highlight is a themed seminar on developing human resources for culinary culture. There will also be workshops led by experienced artisans. Students from local schools will take part in cooking competitions.
Cultural performances are another attraction. These include circus acts, hat van, hat xam, and street performances. Modern and traditional art forms will be combined. Visitors can also explore book and photo exhibitions.
Live demonstrations bring culinary heritage to life. Activities include making banh chung and preparing Bat Trang traditional feasts. Visitors can watch lotus tea scenting from West Lake. Other demonstrations feature making green rice flakes, Phu Thuong sticky rice, and cold snail noodle soup. Artisans will also guide guests in making preserved fruits and traditional sweets.
Cha Ca La Vong Recognized as National Heritage
A special highlight will take place on the evening of December 19. During the opening ceremony, organizers will announce official recognition by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The decision honors the knowledge of preparing and enjoying Cha Ca La Vong as National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Visitors will meet members of the Doan family at the ceremony. They will hear stories from six generations. These stories reveal how the dish became a symbol of Hanoi’s culinary identity.

A Cultural Destination for Visitors
