Overcoming dozens of teams from Laos and China, Lao ethnic artisans from Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien province, won second prize at the 2025 “Pu’er – Creativity and Success” Traditional Brocade Weaving Skills Competition.
The event took place from October 24–26 in Jiangcheng District, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province, China.

During the event, artisans demonstrated weaving techniques, showcased traditional costumes, and displayed various handmade brocade products — including scarves, garments, and cultural accessories.
Their performances highlighted the vibrant colors and delicate patterns unique to Lao ethnic craftsmanship.

Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Opportunities
Beyond the competition, participants joined study tours and networking sessions.
The Dien Bien delegation visited models that combine agriculture, culture, and tourism, and attended entrepreneurship forums to share experiences and explore business cooperation.
These activities strengthened cross-border cultural exchange among the three countries.
They also helped preserve and promote traditional brocade weaving, reinforcing the cultural identity of Dien Bien’s ethnic groups and Vietnam’s national heritage.

The organizing committee presented 18 prizes to the most outstanding teams and products.
These included one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and twelve consolation prizes.
