Ba Vì Records the Lowest Temperature in Hanoi

The lowest temperature in Hanoi was recorded at Ba Vì, where the mercury dropped to 9.8°C, nearly three degrees lower than yesterday. Ba Vì sits more than 1,000 meters above sea level, so temperatures there are usually 1–2°C cooler than other areas.

In the capital’s urban zones, the lowest temperatures were:

• Hà Đông: 11°C
• Hoài Đức, Sơn Tây: 12°C
• Láng: 15°C

These measurements come from meteorological shelters, meaning outdoor real-feel temperatures may be 1–2°C colder.

Central Vietnam Also Affected

Cold air continues to push south, lowering temperatures across central provinces. Quỳ Châu in Nghệ An recorded 7°C, the lowest temperature in Central Vietnam. Mountain districts such as Hồi Xuân (Thanh Hóa), Tương Dương, Quỳ Hợp (Nghệ An), Hương Sơn and Hương Khê (Hà Tĩnh) experienced temperatures between 8–9°C.

Other minimum temperatures recorded:

• A Lưới (Huế): 14°C
• Trà My (Đà Nẵng): 18°C
• Ba Tơ (Quảng Ngãi): 19°C

Warmer Weather Expected Soon

Meteorologists predict temperatures in Northern Vietnam will rise as the cold front weakens. According to AccuWeather, Hanoi may warm to 18–19°C tomorrow night, with daytime highs reaching around 25°C.

High mountain locations above 1,500 meters, such as Sa Pa (Lào Cai), will range from 6°C to 19°C.
