Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025: Where Heritage Meets Modern Beauty
This November, Hanoi will come alive with color, culture, and creativity. The Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025 is returning with more excitement than ever. Organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the event celebrates Vietnam’s iconic traditional dress — the Ao Dai — through fashion shows, exhibitions, and parades.
A Celebration of Vietnamese Grace
The festival runs from November 7–9, 2025, at Hanoi Museum and Hoan Kiem Lake. Its theme, “Ao Dai Hanoi – Shining the Essence of Heritage,” highlights the charm and pride behind this national costume.
This annual event honors the beauty of the Ao Dai and inspires young designers to keep its traditions alive. It also strengthens Hanoi’s image as a safe, friendly, and captivating destination for visitors from around the world.

Explore and Experience Vietnamese Craftsmanship
At Hanoi Museum, more than 80 creative booths will showcase the best of Vietnamese design and heritage. Visitors can explore displays from fashion designers, craft villages, and silk artisans.
You can:
-
Discover the photo exhibition “Hanoi – Ao Dai Heritage.”
-
Rent or buy Ao Dai outfits and take photos in spaces inspired by Khue Van Pavilion and Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
-
Join hands-on workshops such as embroidery, fabric painting, and making traditional accessories like conical hats or bamboo dragonflies.
These activities help travelers connect with Vietnam’s artistry while keeping traditional crafts alive.
Folk Games and Traditional Performances
The festival also features performances of Ca tru, Chèo, Quan họ, and Xẩm singing — classic Vietnamese art forms.
In the folk game zone, visitors can play O an quan (Mandarin square capturing), bamboo dancing, and tug of war. These playful moments create joy and bring people closer together.

Main Highlights
The Opening Gala on November 7 will showcase designers, models, and artists in a spectacular performance. The stage will blend traditional elements with modern creativity.
On November 8, the famous Ao Dai Parade will light up Hoan Kiem Lake. Over 1,000 participants dressed in traditional and modern Ao Dai will walk gracefully around the lake, turning the heart of Hanoi into a sea of color.
Other special programs include:
-
The children’s fashion show “I Love Hanoi.”
-
The design competition “Ao Dai – Connecting Heritage.”
-
The “Touch Autumn in Hanoi” double-decker bus tour.
Each event celebrates Hanoi’s culture, youth, and creative energy.
Ao Dai – The Symbol of Vietnam
The Ao Dai is more than a dress. It represents Vietnam’s identity, elegance, and pride. Through this festival, Hanoi aims to turn the Ao Dai into a symbol of cultural tourism and a living ambassador of Vietnamese heritage.
The event encourages artists, communities, and businesses to work together in preserving tradition while embracing modern life.
