A Symphony of Unity: November at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism

This November, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will burst into life with vibrant colors, music, and traditions. From November 1 to 30, 2025, visitors can join a month-long celebration titled “Great National Unity – The Essence of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures.”

The event brings together the diverse beauty of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Through exhibitions, performances, and cultural exchanges, it celebrates unity in diversity — a core value that defines the Vietnamese spirit.

Celebrating Vietnam’s Diversity and Unity

The festival honors the bond shared among all ethnic communities across Vietnam. It highlights the strength that comes from harmony, cooperation, and shared traditions.

Visitors can explore the cultures of many regions in one place, enjoy lively performances, and experience traditional crafts and cuisine. It’s a perfect opportunity to see how Vietnam’s past and present blend seamlessly through culture.

Festival Highlights Throughout November

Under the theme “Great National Unity – The Essence of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures,” the month is filled with activities that bring ethnic stories to life.

Highlights include:

  • The Brotherhood Ceremony (Prơ ngooch) reenacted by the Co Tu people of Da Nang.

  • “Echoes of the Great Forest”, a lively cultural exchange featuring music and dance from the Central Highlands.

  • Traditional cuisine and cultural experiences from the Co Tu community.

  • Folk performances such as “Song of Unity” by Central Highlands artists and “Dance of Togetherness” by northern ethnic groups.

Every performance shares a message of love, friendship, and unity — the threads that tie Vietnam’s many cultures together.

National Great Unity and Cultural Heritage Week

From November 18 to 23, the Village will host the National Great Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Week.
This week-long event features:

  • The Opening Ceremony and 2nd Muong Ethnic Culture Festival.

  • A conference on preserving ethnic culture and promoting tourism.

  • An international cultural exchange at the “Common House,” showcasing Vietnamese culture to global friends.

  • The National Great Unity Festival, filled with music, folk games, and regional showcases.

These events strengthen community bonds and celebrate the country’s vibrant cultural heritage.

Weekends of Flavor and Tradition

Every weekend, the Village becomes a lively gathering of culture, art, and food. Visitors can explore traditional stilt houses, learn folk dances, or join in musical performances featuring gongs, bamboo instruments, and the unique T’rưng xylophone.

The food stalls are a highlight for many visitors. Each dish tells a story — from the sticky rice and grilled chicken of the Muong and Thai, to the forest-flavored dishes of the Dao and Kho Mu, and the aromatic coffee and cocoa of the Ede and Xo Dang. The Tay and Nung communities also offer smoked meats, bamboo shoots, and colorful traditional cakes.

Guests can also try their hand at weaving, basket making, or crafting traditional medicine — experiences that make the culture truly come alive.

Folk Games and Family Fun

Children and families can take part in traditional games such as O an quan (Mandarin squares), bamboo dancing, stilt walking, and swing games. These activities may look simple, but they help young visitors discover creativity, teamwork, and a deeper connection to Vietnam’s cultural roots.

A Living Museum of Vietnamese Culture

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is more than a tourist destination — it’s a living museum that tells the story of a united Vietnam.

This November, the Village becomes a “symphony of unity,” where the songs, flavors, and colors of 54 ethnic groups come together in harmony. It’s a beautiful reminder that Vietnam’s strength lies in its diversity — and in the warmth of its people.
